It's good to know the person who's in charge at the start of the project. Otherwise you get stuff like this after going through several rounds of comps:
You present the site to the management at the client, and they start dissin' everything you made. When you defend yourself, tellin' them that everything was created working together with their project manager. They go "Him, you went through it with him, what does he know about our business, he sits in his office all day starin' out the window"

You wonder why they chose him in the first place....
