I saw a sigh about the request for beveled chrome. Hey, I just got to do a pseudo-heavy metal logo and felt lucky to finally get my early 80s jones out of the way. Chrome ROCKS!!!
That said, how about this:
One client requested a flyer with "fun type" so I gave him Helvetica Black Condensed at a rakish angle - in Magenta. How much more fun does it get?
Well, three rounds of painful revisions led me to what I had feared from the start: "Fun Type" is client shorthand for Remedy-like type at wildly different sizes, angles and colors... preferably in the same word.
That client went under shortly thereafter, which teaches us all a valuable lesson, I think: Don't anger the almighty Helvetica.
