I was in a meeting in Manhattan recently with some British clients with large amounts of independant money to back up the project. I put together a demo, naturally, to show them the presentation of style and as a vehicle to drive conversation about what they like and what they don't. The example I had designed was made with a black background. Black backgrounds, while functionally impractical for the most part, are sexy and alluring and just about perfect to ensnare a client's interest.
One of the Brits turns to me and says, in a conspiratorial tone, "Nice design, but what will all of the Latins think about the black background?"
