NOT directed at me, but a coworker after posting comps:
"if you aren't going to make it look good, maybe you shouldn't do it."
Everyone BUT that designer was cracking up.
also: "is that it?"
I am in the marketing department now so I don't have to deal with clients anymore but I would constantly end up in situations where you tell the client "This is NOT a functioning version." or "This is only about function, not about design. This design is not final, ignore it. just focus on the functionality." and they will come back and say "It looks good but it doesn't work." and "It works great but the design is too plain."
